Patty Bilotto has nearly 30 years of experience leading the marketing and business development efforts for various design and construction companies throughout Connecticut. She is the Manager of Marketing and Business Development at van Zelm Engineers, designers of mechanical and electrical building systems, with offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts & North Carolina. Patty has demonstrated experience in executing multi-faceted marketing and business development plans, nurturing/maintaining meaningful client and industry relationships, building brand awareness, placing of digital and print media and planning of events.
Patty brings a wealth of experience volunteering for non-profit organizations and has been extremely active with PWC CT since she joined in 2008. She most recently held the role of PWC CT Secretary from 2019 –2020, serves as Membership Chair since 2009, member of the Program and Awards committees, and served on its board as a director from 2011-2015. She is a past president (four terms) of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, Connecticut Chapter, and served as SMPS National’s Chair of its Striving for Excellence Committee. Patty earned her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Haven.
Beccah Eldridge is an architect at Shepley Bulfinch, a national architecture firm with offices in Boston, Hartford, Houston, and Phoenix specializing in tackling complex projects, especially in the areas of education, healthcare, and urban development. She is responsible for projects ranging in size, and from the conceptual stage through construction and occupation. Beccah has over 15 years of experience in the AEC industry, focusing primarily in healthcare planning and design. Her project experience ranges from interior fit-outs within hospital campuses to ground up outpatient centers within the New England region. Beccah is actively involved in many organizations both within and outside the AEC industry. In addition to serving as PWC CT Vice President, she held the role of PWC Secretary from 2013 – 2018, and sits on several committees and is the chair for the Sponsorship Committee. She is a 2014 graduate of the Quest Program through the Leadership of Greater Hartford. She formerly served on boards for Hartford Public High School and the CT Science Center. She received her Bachelor’s degree here in Hartford, CT at Trinity College and her Master of Architecture from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
Carolyn is a Director at CohnReznick and a leader in the Firm’s Government Services and Construction Industry Practices. She has over 20 years of experience and specializes in providing audit, accounting, consulting and forensic services to government agencies, quasi-government agencies, government contractors and service providers, engineering firms and construction companies. Ms. Kurth specializes in, and has extensive experience with Construction Claims Analysis for various public and non-public project owners; Contract Close-Out Audits; Interim Project Audits; Financial Reporting & Auditing for School Construction Projects; Burden, Fringe & Overhead Rate Audits; and Forensic investigations for various companies and organizations. Prior to joining CohnReznick, Carolyn was the Director of Forensic Accounting, Auditing and Consulting at a regional accounting firm where she was responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Firm’s policies and procedures for quality control on all of the Firm’s audits, forensic accounting and consulting engagements, and special projects. In addition to being a charter board member of the Connecticut Chapter of Professional Women in Construction (PWC), Carolyn served as Treasurer of the Connecticut Chapter of PWC from 2005 – 2013, President of the Connecticut Chapter from 2014 – 2015, and is currently Treasurer. Carolyn’s commitment to the construction industry was recognized by the Professional Women in Construction – National, who honored her in 2014 as a “Woman of Achievement”. Ms. Kurth previously served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Women in Construction Connecticut Chapter. She is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the National Association of Construction Auditors.
Dawn Meeker is a director in Marcum’s Advisory and Consulting practice and a member of the CFO and Controllership group. She has more than 31 years of experience in both public and private accounting. She earned a Bachelor of Science, in Accounting from the University of New Haven, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Connecticut. Dawn advises clients on construction accounting software system implementations; and manages onboarding and training of all staff on these systems. She has a significant depth of knowledge within the construction industry due to her 20 years of experience serving as the Controller and Vice President with various companies in the drywall, electrical and mechanical construction trade industries. She oversaw all bonding processes, including all financial and banking operations. Dawn has also previously held Interim Controller roles for many of her clients, where she provides daily accounting and financial operational support (from recording monthly transactions to budgeting, forecasting, and cash management) and comprehensive oversight including identifying opportunities, and mitigation of financial risk throughout each phase of the growth process. Dawn is an active member of the community and industry. She currently serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee for the Boys and Girls Club of New Haven, CT, where her values closely align with the mission of the organization. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA). Previously, Dawn has served as a member of the PWC Awards Committee and is looking forward to stepping into her role as Secretary for 2020.
Laurann is a principal at the law firm of Shipman & Goodwin, LLP. Her practice concentrates on construction litigation, representing owners, contractors and subcontractors throughout Connecticut involving multi-million dollar construction projects. Laurann has been the principal construction litigator for the University of Connecticut’s UCONN 2000 and 21st Century Construction Infrastructure Program and has represented the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation in their construction litigation matters. Besides representing owners, Laurann has represented subcontractors and contractors in all forums of litigation including Alternative Dispute Resolution processes, and state and federal courts. She also counsels clients during construction projects so as to avoid litigation and achieve optimal resolutions. Laurann is admitted to practice law in the States of Connecticut and New York, the United States District Court of Connecticut and the Southern and Eastern District Courts of New York. Laurann has lectured and authored articles on the topic of mold in construction, subcontractor payment issues, BIM and how to get the greatest economic advantage in a down economy. She has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Connecticut Law School instructing students in the art of appellate writing and oral argument. Laurann received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 1982 and earned her law degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 1985. In addition to her roles with PWC, Laurann is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Construction Law Section Executive Committee; and American Bar Association, Construction Law Section. Industry Advisory Board member for CCSU Construction Management Program. Appointed by the Governor of Connecticut to serve on the Architectural Licensing Board.
Tracy is an Associate Principal at The S/L/A/M Collaborative (SLAM) located in Glastonbury, CT. Specializing in healthcare environments, she has planned, designed, documented, and provided technical expertise for many significant projects, including site assessments, complex renovations, and new construction. Her project experience includes inpatient nursing units, emergency departments, medical office buildings, rehabilitation facilities, cancer centers, behavioral health units, and medical education facilities. As a Revit Leader within the firm, she is also a resource for providing support, guidance, and innovations in BIM technology. In addition to serving on the Scholarship Committee, Tracy is the current chair of the Mentor Committee for the PWC-CT Chapter. She is also involved in the local community through volunteering, mentoring, and leading activities for youth interested in the A/E/C industry. Tracy graduated from Roger Williams University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language.
Kimberly Colapietro. Partner of EDI Landscape, LLC EDI is a landscape professional with 30 years of experience, having severed as an owner/ operator of the landscaping business for much of her career. She formed EDI in 2001 and serves as managing partner, with a focus on driving a culture of customer satisfaction and field operations excellence. Kim brings to each project a desire that leads to vibrant and sustainable spaces and is very passionate about her year round color programs as evidenced in many notable projects. She has learned that taking a holistic and systematic approach must be taken to consider the site’s physical surroundings and the needs of the client, taking into account financial implications, long-term community effects, implementation, maintenance and management of each project. With a wide array of experience on a variety of award-winning commercial, institutional and public landscape projects ranging size and complexity, Kim is directly involved with quality initiatives, including sustainability, technical delivery and safety oversight. She oversees firm growth, diversification and development; and defines the firm’s business objectives for performance, collaborative operations and staff development. She is dedicated to working closely with clients to achieve memorable and lasting built work. Kim is an active member of PLANET, a national association for landscape professionals, the Connecticut Construction Industries Association and the Professional Women in Construction.
Kyma is a Project Manager at LaRosa Building Group, LLC, a family-owned Meriden based firm specializing in General Construction, Design/Build, Construction Management and Contract Administration. Since joining LaRosa in 2014, Kyma has managed over forty million dollars in projects ranging in size, primarily in affordable housing. She is the proud recipient of the Professional Women in Construction Connecticut Chapter Rising Star Award, is a LEED Accredited Professional (Building Design and Construction), and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Wesleyan University and a Master of Science in Construction Management from Central CT State University. In addition to serving on the Connecticut Chapter’s Board of Directors, Kyma also serves on various committees for the New Haven Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.
Jennifer Marks is a licensed Land Surveyor and Principal at BL Companies, an employee-owned firm delivering high-quality, integrated architecture, engineering, environmental and land surveying services to public and private clients for land development, building design and infrastructure projects. She has over 37 years of land surveying experience and is a licensed surveyor in multiple states throughout the region. She is responsible for business development at BL Companies with a focus on the energy industry as well as commercial real estate. She has been successful in developing key client relationships and expanding the company’s geographic footprint throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. In addition, Jennifer has been instrumental in developing and leading the implementation of the firm’s strategic foundation and leadership development program. She is an experienced project manager and enjoys mentoring and sharing her wealth of experiences with others in the industry. Jennifer is currently active in Professional Women in Construction, the Connecticut Association of Land Surveyors and CREW CT. She resides in Branford, CT with her husband and has two post college-age children.
Ron has been part of the A/E/C industry for over 25 years. He has worked as an interior and architectural designer for design firms, corporations, and private universities. He is currently a Project Manager with the architectural firm Drummey Rosane Anderson, Inc. in their Connecticut office. In addition to serving on the Connecticut Chapter’s Board of Directors and is the Chair of the Scholarship Committee. Ron holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College. In addition to serving on the Connecticut Chapter’s Board of Directors, he has also served as the Chair of the Scholarship Committee and continues to be a member of the Committee.
Bela is an Underwriting Manager for United Casualty & Surety Insurance Company (“UCS”), a Boston-based, mono-line surety company. UCS is licensed in all 50 states and is recognized by the U.S. Treasury Department of Certified Companies. Before joining UCS, Bela worked for a larger firm underwriting Construction Surety Bonds for clients with annual revenues of up to $150M. Working for both a large and small firm has given Bela insight within various facets of the Construction industry. The ability to help smaller contractors become familiar with the surety prequalification process is the best part of her job. Pre-underwriting, Bela was a certified Esthetician at a Salon & Day Spa and concurrently attending Capital Community College for her Associates in Management. She then moved on to Central Connecticut State University for her Bachelor’s in Accounting while also interning for the Travelers Insurance EDGE program within their I.T., Marketing, and Finance departments.
Bela is involved with the PWC CT Communications Committee and is also a member of the Young Contractors Forum, AGC of C.T., Professional Women in Surety in N.Y., and the Surety Association of Connecticut.
